The GDP for the Middle East region stands at $2.246 trillion dollars a year. A large proportion of this income is derived from crude oil production and its derivatives. i.e. refining, chemical and pharmaceutical. Crude oil accounts for 35% or 21.76 million barrels a day of the worlds total oil production and the region holds 65% of the worlds oil reserves
