Sussex based punk rock band - Heavy Load - take to the stage in this fantastic feature length documentary by director Jerry Rothwell.
Shot over the course of two years, it charts the rise of its five members - Simon Barker - Vocals, Jimmy Nichols - Guitar, Paul Richards - Bass, Michael White - Drums and Mick Williams - Guitar & Vocals - as they overcome many hurdles on their way to stardom. Not least being that three of them have varying learning disabilities.
Not that this holds them back! There’s the typical musical differences, falling outs, egos and lofty ambitions. Untypical though for a punk rock band is an audience that disappears at 8.45pm because their carers clock off at 10pm.
Angered by this, the band start a campaign called "Stay Up Late" and with some help from Kylie, EMI and Wreckless Eric set about touring the country to promote it. The highlight being the Wychwood festival were they play along side bands such as the Levellers, Badly Drawn Boy and the Fun Lovin’ Criminals.
